Who We Are

The Liederkranz German Band is an all-volunteer community ensemble that honors the rich German musical traditions of Indianapolis through fun, high-energy performances of traditional and contemporary music.

Our mission is to inspire pride in Indianapolis' German-American heritage by providing an inclusive community for musicians of all backgrounds to learn, play, and celebrate together.

Our ensemble is always welcoming new musicians of all instruments and voice parts - no audition required.

Our Repertoire

From the lively rhythms of polkas and waltzes to famous drinking songs and the most popular songs at the Wiesn, our repertoire embodies the diverse flavors of German music. Whether you're a fan of the classics or love the fusion of new sounds, our performances bring you a real German experience here in Indianapolis.

Where We Play

The Liederkranz Band travels all over the Hoosier state, and sometimes even beyond! Central Indiana has no shortage of Frühlingsfest, Oktoberfest, and Christkindlmarkt celebrations, and we try to play as many of them as we can!

We are also available for private parties (e.g. birthdays, weddings, corporate events), with band sizes ranging from 6 to 60 musicians, depending on capacity & availability.
